Born and bred in the great city of Queens, NY, Award-winning Filmmaker/Actor, Alfonso has been performing since childhood appearing in a number of plays and television shows including HBO's Boardwalk Empire. Ever the creative talent, he has also tried his hand at stand up comedy, seemingly finding his voice late nights in comedy clubs.  In 2012, he wrote, produced, directed and starred in A SATURDAY IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE featuring a cameo by the late great comedian Charlie Murphy, which received distribution through Issa Raes Production Company, ISSA RAE PRESENTS. Since then he's donned multiple creative hats for several short films including TOUGH, starring Tony Nominated actor John Earl Jelks, OLIVE featuring MaameYaa Boafo (The Blacklist, Chicago Med), F**k You Pay Me, BOOGIEVISION: A Short Documentary centered on filmmaker Michael “Boogie” Pinckney. Alfonso won top honors at the 2018 American Black Film Festival winning the HBO award for Best Short Film for MOTHS & BUTTERFLIES starring Amari Cheatom (Roman J. Israel Esq) and Gillian Glasco (The Good Fight/CBS). His films have appeared in over 100 film festivals internationally including UrbanWorld, BlackStar, New Voices, Frameline, and The African Film Festival at Lincoln Center and have been distributed on multiple platforms like Verizon Fios, Comcast, Xfinity, and Dish Cable Networks.  Currently, Alfonso is developing the screenplay for his as yet untitled debut feature film.
